Our Figured Ingrain Carpet installed
Our Figured Ingrain Carpet installed in a historic site in Indiana. The carpet is all wool and woven in a document colorway and pattern taken from a surviving period example.
Reefed Curtain of our Gossamer Dimity
This is a reefed curtain we made using our historic reproduction gossamer dimity. Reefed curtains were a type of festoon used often in 19th-century interiors. They can be raised and lowered. Gossamer is a lovely, open weave fabric that works well for window treatments and bed hangings.
Squab for 19th-c. chair in figured worsted & silk
This is one of a set of squabs we made for a suite of 19th-century chairs. We wove the historic reproduction figured worsted and silk fabric. We made the custom tassels and cording, and we constructed the squabs. Squabs were a typical period way to dress up cane bottom or plank seat chairs. They are also comfortable!
Balloon Shade in Figured Worsted with Fringe
This is a balloon shade we made for the Farmers' Museum in Cooperstown, NY. We wove the figured worsted fabric using a pattern in a period weavers' draft book. We also wove the custom cut fringe in worsted wools. Balloon shades are a great period window treatment that is also functional; they can be raised and lowered for privacy, light control, and warmth.
