Historic Furnishing Textiles
for Homes & Historic Sites

Our reputation for historic reproductions is based on the knowledge that Rabbit Goody was trained in the history museum field and worked at the New York State Historical Association, Cooperstown, New York, and Mystic Seaport, Mystic Connecticut. Her research in textile history has allowed her to dig deeply into primary source materials for historic weavers recipes and techniques. This is then translated to reproductions and adaptations done for museums and private homes.

Some of our favorite projects have included George Washington’s sleeping tent, Martin Van Buren’s bedhangings, Thomas Jefferson’s drapery trim, James Monroe’s carpet and coverlet, Mount Vernon’s small dining room drapery and drugget. Also Woodrow Wilson’s boyhood home stair carpet, tie back and tape for Mount Vernon’s Venetian blinds, and tassels for Mount Vernon.

It is especially gratifying when we are able to work closely with a house committee or curator. When we become involved in the decision making  together we do more than  reproduce  just a textile,  we can understand the entire house.
